The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s educational gardening program, Urban Harvest, grows fruits and vegetables for childhood hunger programs, while providing fresh food education through field trips, after school activities, and school break day camps.
Urban Harvest welcomes volunteers of all skill levels and ages. Garden volunteer work includes weeding, composting, and other garden maintenance. This is an outdoor volunteering opportunity, so come dressed for the weather and be prepared to get dirty!
In the event of inclement weather, we will have to cancel this shift. If it predicted to rain (more than a 50% chance) the morning of your shift, or the temperature is predicted under 36°F at 8am, garden volunteering will be cancelled.

Requirements
- Please do not wear flip flops, sandals or any other open-toed or open-heeled shoes. Volunteers wearing these will not be able to work in the garden.
- You will be working outside. Dress according to the weather. Don't forget hats and sunscreen!

Be aware that the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is a smoke free facility and tobacco use is only permitted in private vehicles. There is no tobacco or electronic cigarette use of any kind permitted in our garden.
